Family & Early History

Pastor Eric A. Burns was born on May 27, 1966 in Meridian, Mississippi to George and Bertha Burns.  He then moved to Flint, Michigan where he lived until relocating to Ohio in 1992.  Pastor Burns has been married to 1st Lady Kimberly M. Burns for over 25 years and is blessed to have four daughters; LaShondra, Latrice, Michelle, and Tatyonia, one son in law, Michael Kale, and 3 grandchildren, Michael Jr., Aaliyah, and Malachi.

 In 1999, it was impressed upon his spirit to find a place of worship for his family, giving them Spiritual guidance with the foundational support of a body of believers as the Bible teaches.  He received exactly what he was seeking and much more, he found a church home at Greater Galilee Baptist Church where he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized.  The defining moment in his life was in 2000 when God called him to preach the Gospel.

Employment, Christian Education & Enrichments

Pastor Burns was self-employed for over 23 years in the Transport Industry starting Burns Carriers in 2009 as the President and Owner.  Pastor Burns strives to learn more about his new Christian walk by attending the Dayton Bible College, Payne Theological Seminary, Trinity College of the Bible, and Zion Hill Baptist Theological Institute & Seminary  where he graduated  Magna  Cum Laude, with Bachelors of Arts and currently attending  for continued Spiritual Education.  Pastor Burns participates in Ministerial and Community Enrichments including The Dayton Baptist Pastors & Ministers Unions (where he served as recording Secretary), Hope for Riverside, and the Montgomery County Sherriff Community Relations (IMPACT).  Pastor Burns advocates for local Bible Studies, Biblical Ministering & Administration, and Ministry Outreach.

Overseer of Greater Galilee Baptist Church

​

On April 06, 2013, Pastor Burns was called to serve as Pastor of his home church, Greater Galilee Baptist Church.  Under the leadership of Pastor Eric A. Burns, over thirty new members joined in the first year and three new ministries unfolded.  August of 2015, GGBC’s Mortgage was paid in full!  January of 2018, the first Female Ministers in GGBC history were appointed.  The congregation led by the ministerial staff  Charge  Pastor to change his title to Bishop on December 31, 2019, with greater spiritual expectations to come as Jesus Christ our LORD continues to order his steps.

Pastor Burns is a Servant of our LORD Jesus Christ who humbles himself.  He has been led, he has led and he serves with others working in the spirit of unity within the Christian body of believers. He believes in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; giving his body as a living sacrifice to spread the Gospel to the world that others may find Jesus Christ, have Eternal Life and Live Abundantly in the LORD. Being guided by the Holy Spirit, Pastor Eric A. Burns, along with his God fearing wife, 1st Lady Kimberly M. Burns, truly demonstrates the mind of our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ in leading Greater Galilee to higher heights.
